Haryana Speaker lauds Indira's role for secular India
Chandigarh, Nov 20 (UNI) Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr Raghuvir Singh Kadian today said that our former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's farsighted policies and tireless efforts helped building a strong, vibrant and vigorous India which led the nation on the path of socialism and secularism.
Mr Kadian was speaking as a Guest of Honour at the National Symposium on the life and works of Mrs Gandhi today at New Delhi.
The Symposium was organized by National integration and Economic Council to pay tribute to Mrs Gandhi on the occasion of her 89th birth anniversary.
He said that the Council had emerged as a pioneering body in the country to serve the industry and its cause. The Council had unparalleled status in the country's industrial set up and the symposia, seminars, conferences and meetings organized by it have served as a bridge between the Government and the Industry.
He said that the national symposium on the life and works of Mrs Indira Gandhi would be an effort to resurrect her memories and the works she did to build India a great nation. As a Prime Minister for over 16 years, Mrs Gandhi shaped the destiny of the nation and built a self-reliant, vibrant and dynamic India by adhering to the path of democracy, socialism and secularism.
Guided by the spirit of national integration, she formulated schemes, plans, programmes and polices which put the nation on the path of rapid development, he added.
