Ban on 'Deshdrohi' in Maharashtra to continue
Mumbai, Nov 20 (UNI) The ban on the release of controversial film 'Deshdrohi', depicting the divide between Marathi-speaking people and the migrant North Indians in Mumbai, would continue, said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today.
Talking to newspersons at the NCP office here, Mr Patil, who also holds the Home portfolio, said a committee of high-ranking bureaucrats had reviewed the film on the Bombay High Court's directive. But, it did not recommend lifting of the ban.
The movie was released across the country on Friday last.
However, its release was banned in Maharashtra by the government for two months, after the police submitted a report apprenhending law and order problem.
