Ex-Deputy Karnataka CM asks JD(S) chief to stop spreading rumours

Bangalore, Nov 19 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah today asked former prime minister and national JD(S) president H D Deve Gowda to stop spreading lies about his past political associates and deeds.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Siddaramaiah said Mr Gowda was making all kinds of baseless statements about his old associates, including him, of indulging in anti-party activities.

He alleged that he did not come out of JD (S) on his own but he was exepelled by Mr Gowda only to pave way for his son H D Kumaraswamy, to make Chief Minister of the Andhra Pradesh.

''Mr Gowda, who had given mental torture to many of his political opponents, was now suddenly talking good of them,'' he charged.

Stating that Mr Gowda was responsible for 'torturing' his political associates like Ramakrishna Hegde, J H Patel, he said he was also responsible for the fall of S R Bommai Government.

He said Mr Gowda spoiled his chances of becoming Chief Minister of the state in 1996 and 2004.

Urging Mr Gowda to make mature statements, Mr Siddaramaiah said he would from now onwards stop talking about him if he continued to make baseless statements.
