Commission seeks report on torture of infant
Kozhikode, Nov 19 (UNI) The Kerala State Human Rights Commission today directed the district administration to submit a report on the condition of an infant who was inflicted burn injuries by a couple from Karnataka.
The order was issued by Commission member Justice V P Mohan Kumar based on a report on the plight of three-year-old Chandrika, said a release.
One of the accused, Lakshmi, arrested for allegedly injuring the girl to force her into begging, was later released on bail, said the release adding that the other person Mariappan was absconding.
