Election to Rajinder Nagar Assembly seat on Dec 13

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The election to the Rajinder Nagar Assembly seat, which was countermanded yesterday following the death of BJP candidate Puran Chand Yogi, will be held on December 13, the Election Commission said.

The last date of nominations is November 25 and scrutiny would be done the next day. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 28.

According to amended rules, only a BJP candidate can file a nomination and the candidates of other parties would remain the same.

Yogi allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his Inderpuri residence in South-West district.

Yogi, 73, three-time legislator from Rajinder Nagar in Central Delhi, was found hanging from the ceiling fan by his wife yesterday morning.

Yogi was to earlier contest for the fourth time from Rajinder Nagar constituency against Congress candidate Ramakant Goswami for the November 29 Delhi Assembly polls.
