Ccenturian among early voters to cast vote in Sonawari

Srinagar, Nov 17 (UNI) A centurian was among about a dozen elders who cast their votes in Sonawari assembly segment in Bandipora district of north kashmir today.

At 97-Nowgam polling booth in Sonawari constituency centurian Muhammad Ibrahim Dar was among the first voters to cast his ballot Dar is a privileged witness of all the electoral exercises undertaken in the State since 1957 when the first general elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir.

85-year-old Ghulam Ahmad Laway exercised his vote at Kunusa-1, a polling booth in Bandipora constituency,.

At Ajote polling station in Poonch-Haveli constituency, 90-year-old Mohammad Sain exercised his right to franchise while at Karmara polling station near Line of Control (LoC), 75-year-old Jan Bibi was among the first electors to cast her vote.

Young Inderjeet Kour, 25 and Ghazala 20, cast their votes for the first time at Purani polling station and Karmara polling station near LoC respectively in Poonch-Haveli constituency.

Both of them expressed happiness on exercising their right to franchise first time.
