UNLF refutes report of arrest of its cadre by troops
Imphal, Nov 13 (UNI) The United National Liberation Front (UNLF)today denied the Assam Rifles' claim that one of its cadres was nabbed near the Manipur Myanmar border areas.
UNLF 'Senior publicity officer' Ksh Yoihenba said the security personnel yesterday nabbed a person, identified as Thoibi, was not a cadre of the outfit.
On November 4, it was reported that the same person had been nabbed. He was then a cadre of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
The PRO of Assam Rifles said he was involved in weapons laundering, extortion, smuggling of arms and ammunition. Yoihenba, is now in the custody of the Kakching Police Station , Thoubal district.
Meanwhile, the UNLF claimed that its cadres had launched an attack on an Assam Rifles post at Lilong, Thoubal district. Rockets, M 79 grenade launchers were used in the attack.
However, there was no report of any casualty from both the sides.
