TN Govt announces seven per cent DA for teachers, employees

Chennai, Nov 13 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today announced seven per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) to its employees, teachers with effect from July one, 2008.

The DA, in tune with Centre's announcement of DA for its employees, would apply to pensioners and family pensioners, an official release here said.

The arrears would be paid in cash in one instalment and it would cost the exchequor Rs 953 crore, the release added.
