Nepal Police crack down hashish factory
Kathmandu, Nov 13 (UNI) Nepali Police has cracked down a hashish factory run by a foreigner in a house in Kathmandu.
''A tip-off from our informer led to the raid of the premises. We found that the hashish factory was run by a foreigner named William. However, we don't want to reveal the identity of the accused for security reasons,'' the Himalayan Times quoted a senior police officer of Kathmandu as saying.
Seventy kg of hashish and two kg of liquid made from the narcotic was seized. Machines, bags, briefcases and books on contraband-manufacturing were also impounded during the raid yesterday.
William had taken the house on rent to run carpet business.
The accused has been missing since June 25 and Officials of Nepal Police are trying to issue a red corner notice to catch the him with the help of Interpol. It is learnt that William would mostly transact with foreigners.
Two locals were also arrested and were released after they were not found of guilty.
