Alliance with Cong only if it declares Telangana State: TRS

Tirupati, Nov 10 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrashekara Rao today said his party would forge an alliance with Congress in the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, if the Congress announces a separate State for Telangana.

Addressing a Meet-the-press programme here, Mr Rao said TRS was ready to go for a tie-up with the Congress, if Telangana State was declared before the elections.

The TRS supremo said the parliament session in December was the last chance for the Congress to announce its decision on the Telangana issue.

''We want to part away from Andhra friendly, he said, adding there was no need to politicise the issue when all parties were expressing in favour of separate Telangana.

Asked about forging an alliance with Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) floated by the actor-politician Chiranjeevi, which favoured Telangana statehood, he said the party should make its stand clear on the issue.
