MPBSE to provide Rs 25,000 compensation to student

Neemuch, MP, Nov 9 (UNI) The district consumer forum has directed the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) to provide Rs 25,000 as compensation to a student for delaying his class XII result besides Rs 1,000 as expenditure incurred on complaint.

District Consumer Forum Chairman Om Prakash Sharma has directed the MPBSE to provide the compensation within two months failing which nine per cent annual interest would be payable.

According to prosecution, Sandeep Agrawal took class XII examination in 2003 but failed in Physics. He was able to secure only four marks in supplementary examination.

When he applied for scrutiny, his marks increased to 31.

After adding 13 marks of practical examination, he was declared pass. However, he received mark sheet late and was unable to sit in examination for 2005-06 session.

The district consumer forum, while delivering the verdict on November 7, felt that the student had to undergo physical and mental harassment due to the delay.
