Three arrested for extorting money in guise of Maoists
Rourkela, Nov 8 (UNI) Three youths arrested on different charges were remanded to jail custody by a lower court here today.
Police said a five-member gang under the banner of Jharkhand Samrat has been extorting money from the businessmen, posing them selves as Maoists.
Acting on a tip off, the police first caught one Surendra Sahu from Bagda under Bisra police station in Sundargarh district and later arrested two others, Phagu Sahu and Sushant Sahu, from Kuchipani area in Jharkhand.
Police said two other gang members, identified as Bhanu Singh and Prabhu Singh, managed to escape during the raid.
