Mah govt to set up 2 committees for aid of non-Maharashtrians
Mumbai, Nov 7 (UNI) The Maharashtra government have decided to set up two committees to hear the grievances of non-Maharashtrians in the state.
The committees will be headed by Police Commissioner (COP) and Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP), Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who also holds the home portfolio, said while speaking to a delegation of North Indian office bearers of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) here yesterday.
Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Parishad President Munna Tripathi, who was also a member of the delegation said here Mr Patil has already given instructions to city police Commissioner Hassan Gafoor to act on it.
Mr Patil also told the delegation that in Dharmadev murder case at Badlapur in neighbouring Thane district, police have already arrested eight accused. ''We have concrete evidence against them,'' he added. The accused in Dube brothers murder case at Dombivali would be behind bars very soon, Mr Patil added.
He has asked the delegation to submit the names of active member of their organisation to Police Commissioner as early as possible for constituting the committees.
