Businessman, family arrested for burning wife
New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) A 32-year-old businessman, along with his mother, sister and a relative, was arrested today for allegedly burning his wife for dowry nearly a year ago.
According to the police, Vikram Singh, his mother Surender Kaur (58), sister Seema Malhotra (32) and relative Nirmal Singh (50) were arrested from the Sultanpuri area in North-West Delhi this morning.
Vikram, who runs a small iron factory in the capital, had allegedly in collusion with them set Simran Singh (27) on fire after pouring kerosene on her in December last year at their Tilak Nagar residence.
Soon after the incident, Vikram's father Mukhtar Singh and brother-in-law Gulshan Kumar Malhotra had been arrested, while the rest managed to flee.
A city court had announced a reward of Rs 5,000 each on their arrest.
Vikram has two children from Simran.
