BSF arrests 41 Bangladeshis from Tripura border
Agartala, Nov 7 (UNI) The BSF has apprehended 41 Bangladeshi nationals during the past one month while they were crossing the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura illegally and seized huge quantity of contraband goods from their possession.
BSF officials here today said the arrested infiltratots included a suspected fundamentalist of the outfit Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh Ghulam Kabiriya (25) of Brahmanbaria.
Huge quantity of contraband goods, including Ganja, sarees, forest produce, textile garments, rice, fertilisers and Phensidyl, worth Rs 4.95 lakh, were seized during the period.
The officials underlined that the authorities had made redeployment of the force following recent blasts in Agartala and Assam while the best sophisticated technical and electronic gadgets, including those for night surveillance, had been placed.
The BSF also intensified patrolling along with setting up of sophisticated gadgets to stop outsiders intruding into Indian territory, the officials added.
