10 UK regional agencies to visit Kolkata to explore investment

Kolkata, Nov 07 (UNI) A UK business contingent, comprising 12 representatives from ten UK Regional Development Agencies, will arrive here next week to market their country as an investment destination.

A statement issued here today by British Deputy High Commissioner to Kolkata Simon Wilson informed that the representatives will also attend the Nasscom CEO Summit.

''The RDAs work closely with UK Trade and Investment to promote overseas investment into their regions and support trade,'' Mr Wilson said.

''Apart from RDA representatives from the English regions, Invest Northern Ireland and Scottish Development International (SDI) would also visit Kolkata. Mr Bill Montgomery is leading the three-member Investment NI team while Mr Mark Hallan will represent SDI,'' he added.

Mr Wilson said he was pleased to see an increase in UK interest in Eastern India during the recent past and hoped that the RDAs would be able to showcase their regions and attract investements.
