Afghani businessman robbed of nearly Rs 1.8 lakh in broad daylight
New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) In a daring daylight attempt, an Afghani exporter was robbed of nearly Rs two lakh at gunpoint in busy Laxmi Nagar area of East Delhi this afternoon.
Aga Khan, an Afghani garment exporter and resident of Yamuna Vihar, was robbed by three men in a car near Ramesh Park under Shakarpur police station while he was on his mobike with his nephew, according to sources.
After the car overtook him, he tried to flee fearing for his money, but as the assailants threatened to shoot his nephew he stopped.
They then took him in his car and after taking away Rs 1.8 lakh from him, threw him out of the car near Bal Bhawan School hearing the siren of an approaching PCR van.
Later, they abandoned the car and snatched a motorcycle from Surendra Sharma (26), an employee of a handicraft export company, and fled.
Police said it has recovered the abandoned car, which it suspects had been stolen, adding that hunt was on for the culprits.
