34 women enter poll fray in MP
Bhopal, Nov 6 (UNI) As many as 34 women were among 466 candidates who filed their nominations so far for the Assembly elections in 230 constituencies of Madhya Pradesh, where polling is scheduled to be held on November 27.
The state election office said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur (both BJP) were among 245 candidates who filed their papers yesterday. There were 24 women candidates who filed papers.
Filing of nominations will close tomorrow, while scrutiny will take place on November 8. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 10.
