56 Pakistani fishermen held by Indian Navy
Karachi, Nov 5 (UNI) The Indian Navy intercepted seven of Pakistan's fishing vessels and detained 56 fishermen for entering India's territorial waters, a Pakistan coastguards official alleged today.
The official further alleged Indians frequently violated Pakistan's maritime boundary and took away Pakistani fishermen, particularly from the Thatta coastal area.
The president of the Thatta chapter of Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, Syed Gulab Shah, said a number of fishermen, who escaped the fate of their colleagues, told him that the incident had taken place somewhere along the coast near Shah Bundar.
The official did not disclose what time the incident took place and quoted local fishermen as saying most of the detained fishermen belonged to Katyar and Jat tribes.
