Advani calls for heightened optimism in present financial crisis
Bangalore, Nov 4 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani today said that in this time of global financial crisis, there was an urgent need for heightened optimism among political leaders and countrymen for the development of the nation.
Addressing a gathering at the release of his autobiography 'My Country and My Life' in Kannada here today Mr Advani said it is the 'duty' of all people to follow the path of optimism if India wants to emerge a super nation.
''Indians have all the potential, it is unlimited and if channalised properly the country could even send a man to the moon in just five years,'' he said.
Mr Advani said that India should develop a new breed of successful leaders with optimisum for safeguarding the interests of the nation to take it to new height'.
Stating that India needs to instill confidence among younger generation he said there is a need for promoting ''man-making education'' rather than Mecaulay-based education system'' which alienates one with his own cultural values.
Earlier, Infosys Technologies Chairman and Chief Mentor N R Narayanmurthy released the book, which records the Indian politics in the post-independant era.
In his speach, Mr Narayanamurty praised Mr Advani for writing a book on himself while being in politics which is rarely found among other political leaders.
