Centre seeks report on UP migrant's killing in Mumbai local
New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) The Centre today sought a report from the Maharashtra government regarding the reported killing of a migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh in a local train in Mumbai yesterday.
The home ministry has directed the State government to submit a report regarding the incident as soon as possible.
Earlier, 25-year-old Rahul, a youth from Bihar was killed in an ''encounter'' with the Mumbai police on Monday after he allegedly tried hijacking a BEST bus.
On October 19, North Indians appearing for Rail Recruitment Board in Mumbai were attacked by MNS activists leading to an uproar against the targeted attacks on the North Indians in Maharashtra.
An all-party party delegation from Bihar led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Chief Ram Vilas Paswan had met Prime Minster Manmohan Singh seeking his intervention to stop such attacks.
