Pentagon says it's only 'training the trainer', not Pak troops
Washington, Oct 25 : The US military experts are only training the Pakistani trainers in counter-insurgency techniques in tribal areas, and not directly the troops, Pentagon said here last evening.
"There has been a very, very small 'train the trainer' operation going on in Pakistan for some time," the Dawn quoted Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell as saying.
He added: "The hope is that the more trainers we train, the more effective they will be in training their forces and the more capable forces will then be able to take the fight to the militants in the tribal areas where they operate."
Last week, about 25 US experts had begun training Pakistani trainers outside tribal areas where the FC operates.
