Border trade affected due to stir
Imphal, Oct 25 (UNI) A 48-hour general strike, which began at midnight last night, and a blockade on the Imphal-Moreh road today affected the border trade between Manipur and Myanmar.
The strike was called by the Joint Action Committee to protest the killing of one Md Yahiya Khan, allegedly by security personnel, on Tuesday at Imphal East.
Local residents of Sora, Thoubal district, blocked the Imphal-Moreh road following which none of the vehicles could proceed to Moreh, the trade centre at Chandel district.
The JAC demanded a judicial probe into the killing.
