Bursting of fire crackers banned in silence zone of city
Chandigarh, Oct 24 (UNI) The Chandigarh District Magistrate has prohibited bursting of fire crackers and fire works on Diwali in the silence zone of the city from 2200 hrs to 0600 hrs.
The order will come into force form zero hour on October 26 and remain effective upto November 14.
The ban has been issued to prevent any unwanted damage during Diwali period.
Silence zone comprises Sector 1, Sector-12, Sector 14, the entire area around the Lake upto 100 meters and the entire area North east of Uttar Marg, including Rock Garden and Lake Club and 100 meters around hospitals, education institutions, courts and religious places.
