Three-day Bharat Nirman campaign begins in Nagaland
Kohima, Oct 23 (UNI) The three-day Bharat Nirman campaign, reaching its third phase in the state after Dimapur and Mokokchung, began today at Wokha town at the district headquarters at Wokha town.
The campaign, organised by sister media units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including DAVP, DFP, Songs and Drama Division and Prasar Bharati.
The Campaign has highlighted the centrally sponsored schemes under Bharat Nirman Programme like Rural Telephony, Rajeev Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana, Accelerated Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme and other flagship schemes like Sarv Siksha Abhiyan, Mid-Day Meal, National Rural Health Mission and Right to Information Act.
The units of Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), Kohima, has already started thematic campaign in the nearby villages like Wokha, Longsa, Koiyo, Longsachung, Humstso and Elumyo, as part of the pre-publicity for the campaign.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Don Bosco Youth Centre at Wokha town with Photo exhibition of DFP, which was flagged off by the Chief Guest of the function Nyanbemo Ngullie, Chairman Lotha Hoho.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Hoho appealed to the general public to know deeply about every scheme as the schemes' success would depend upon them only.
The technical session on Bharat Nirman Programme and NERGS was organised after the inaugural session. Similar sessions on Sarv Siksha Abhiyan and Nationa Rural Health Mission would be taken up tomorrow at the Wokha village Community Hall.
