Printing of EPIC to begin in couple of days: CEO

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 22 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Naresh Gupta has said that the printing of Electors' Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) for voters would begin in the respective EPIC centres across the state within a couple of days.

Addressing a press conference here after holding discussions with the District Collectors of Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Pudukkottai and Krishnagiri yesterday, on the arrangements to be made for the next annual revision, Mr Gupta said there were 234 EPIC centres in the state with one centre in every Assembly constituency.

EPICs for new voters, whose names have been included during the recent special revision, would be printed at the EPIC centres and distributed, he said.

The draft photo electoral rolls would be published on November 10 and the final rolls on January 10. The next annual revision would begin from January one, he added.
