Rodrigues condoles demise of Punjab IAS officer
Chandigarh, Oct 21 (UNI) Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Union Territory Administrator, General (Retd.) S F Rodrigues, today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the untimely demise of senior IAS officer A S Chhatwal who allegedly committed suicide yesterday.
Mr Chhatwal, who was Secretary, Science Technology Non-Conventional Energy and NRI Affairs in the Punjab Government, allegedly commited suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence here last evening.
Describing Mr Chhatwal as a brilliant and outstanding officer, General Rodrigues said the state had lost an outstanding bureaucrat with good qualities of head and heart in the death of Mr Chhatwal.
He conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to members of the bereaved family and prayed for their strength to bear the loss.
