Jaiprakash Associates Q2 net up 96 pc

New Delhi, Oct 21: Jaiprakash Associates, a part of Jaypee Group, on Tuesday, Oct 21 said it has registered a 96.03 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 203.13 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 as compared to Rs 103.62 crore for the same period a year ago.

Total income jumped 39.51 per cent in Q2 FY09 to Rs 1,286.63 crore from Rs 922.20 crore in Q2 FY08, the company said in a statement. The company has also declared the first interim dividend of 30 paise (15 per cent per equity share of Rs two) for the financial year 2008-09. Jaiprakash Associates also decided to raise about Rs 1,800 crore through the Rights Issue to meet the company's requirements of funds for its capex and other general corporate purposes.
