BJP fomented communal tension after Godhra: GPCC
Ahmedabad, Oct 21 (UNI) The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) today alleged that BJP the government in the state had failed to prevent the Godhra train carnage and fomented communal tension in its aftermath to reap electoral benefits.
Reacting to the Supreme Court's order to drop POTA charges against the Godhra train carnage accused, GPCC chief spokesperson Arjun Modhavadia told mediapersons that Chief Minister Narendra Modi's government, instead of properly investigating the carnage and punishing the culprits, deliberately applied POTA charges to mislead the investigations and hide the real culprits.
Mr Modhavadia said if the Godhra train carnage inquiry was held in the right direction and manner, real culprits could have been punished severely.
