Spanish Red Cross Society distributes ice to fisherwomen

Kakinada, Oct 20 (UNI) The Spanish Red Cross society today distributed Ice Boxes to 310 fisherwomen under the tsunami livelihood project' in a function held at the local Red Cross society office here.

The project was being implemented under Rs.1.20 Crore Spanish Red Cross Society's aid, aimed at improving the living standards of fishermen in the tsunami-affected villages.

Fisheries Department Assistant Director VVRS Prasad said the beneficiaries had to pay only ten percent of the cost of the ice-boxes.
