GNDU continue winning spree in NZ inter varsity football

Patiala, Oct 20 (UNI) In the North Zone Inter-varsity football tournament being played here on the campus of Punjabi University, Guru Nanak Dev University chalked out a thrilling victory against Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, 4-0 in a match played at a brisk pace.

The goal getters for GNDU were Pardeep Singh, Balraj Singh and Sandeep Singh (2 goals).

In another match, Allahabad Agricultural University, Allahabad, defeated Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, 2-1. Both the goals for Allahabad team were scored by Thangboi-Gante.

Lucknow University, Lucknow, defeated Aligarh University 3-1 in an absorbing encounter. For Lucknow University, Ankit scored two beautiful goals and Satinder Singh a goal to remember. For Aligarh University, Abdul scored a consolation goal.

In the match played in the forenoon, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, lost to unfancied Kumaon University, Nainital 0-1 in a dull tie.
