Ch'garh: Naxal attack kills 9 CRPF jawans
Jagdalpur, Oct 20: In a major Naxalite attack, nine jawans of Central Reserve Police Force were killed and 10 others injured in a landmine blast in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Monday, Oct 20 morning, police said.
The jawans were patrolling the Bijapur-Bhopalpatnam road on foot when the Maoists triggered the explosion. Condition of two jawans was serious, police sources said, adding the injured were undergoing treatment at Bijapur hospital.
Following the explosion, both sides exchanged fire and two Naxalites were killed, police claimed.
