10 hrs curfew relaxation in Burhanpur
Burhanpur, MP, Oct 19 (UNI) Life in Madhya Pradesh's riot-affected Burhanpur town limped back to normalcy after curfew was relaxed for 10 hours today this morning after 11 days.
District Collector Kerolin Khegwar Deshmukh said the relaxation was given from 0700 hrs to 1700 hrs so that all the markets, banks and educational institutions could start functioning.
Six hours of relaxation was also given in curfew yesterday.
She said that the people injured in violence were admitted in the government hospital and were discharged after providing them medical assistance.
The district administration had imposed curfew in the area on October 10 in the wake of communal riots in which 9 people were killed, 27 injured and more than 500 arrested.
