Kerala to introduce Bill for non-residents welfare
Kozhikode, Oct 18 (UNI) The Kerala government had proposed to introduce a Bill providing for the launch of welfare schemes for Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) in the coming session of the State Assembly, said Mr Manjalamkuzhi Ali, MLA, Director of Norka-Roots, a state government undertaking for rendering service to NRKs.
Talking to newspersons after attending a meeting on issuing identity cards to NRKs here today, he said the draft Bill had already been circulated among the legislators in the State.
Mr Ali said all arrangements to issue ID cards to NRKs in the Malabar region had been completed. The government would consider a proposal to issue such ID cards to all foreign returnees also in the second phase.
Norka-Roots Vice-Chairman V K C Mammedkoya presided over the meeting.
