CITU demonstrates against sacking of airlines employees
Kolkata, Oct 16 (UNI) The CITU along with Airports Authority of India Employees Union (AAEU), Airport Staff and Employees Union and several employees of Jet Airways today staged a demonstration at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport, protesting the sacking of 22 employees of the airlines from this city.
A procession was taken out in the afternoon after which a rally was held in front of the domestic terminal, where leaders threatened to intensify their agitation if the airlines did not rescind their decision.
A delegation of the protestors presented a memorandum to a senior Jet Airways official at the airport.
Jet Airways yesterday decided to retrench more than 1000 employees after its tie-up with Kingfisher Airlines.
