Vayalar Ravi raps Mayawati on Rae Bareily land issue
New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Lashing out at Chief Minister Mayawati's decision to cancel the allotment of land to the Railways for setting up a rail coach factory at Rai Bareily, senior Congress leader and union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi accused the Chief Minister of indulging in very 'cheap politics' and setting a 'very bad precedent'.
Talking to newspersons on the eve of the Parliament session, starting on Friday, he however warned that "if Ms Mayawati or the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh think that they can prevent "our leader Sonia ji" from visting the states, they are living in a fool's paradise." He said the cancellation of land allotted for rail coach factory was not in the national interest, describing the project as major one which would have provided jobs to thousands of poor people.
Mr Vayalar Ravi said the country was governed by a federal system and such kind of politics had no place in it.
