Discharge from Mettur dam reduced, water level at 68.42 ft
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 15 (UNI) With continous rain in the Cauvery delta region, the discharge from the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur across River Cauvery has been reduced from yesterday, PWD sources said.
The discharge of water which was maintained at 14,081 cusecs till yesterday morning, was reduced to 6,257 cusecs later, sources said.
The level in the dam stood at 68.42 feet this morning with an inflow of 9,821 cusecs.
From the Grand Anaicut, 3,034 cusecs of water each was released through River Cauvery and Vennar, 3,514 cusecs through Grand Anaicut Canal and 5,523 cusecs through Coleroon for irrigation.
