Oz cops tracing stolen car have their own car stolen!
Melbourne, Oct 14 : Police in Far North Queensland were left red-faced after their car was nicked while they were investigating reports of another stolen vehicle.
The incident occurred when two police officers in Bamaga, North Queensland, were investigating the reports of a stolen Landcruiser near the far northern community of Injinoo, reports the Courier Mail.
According to the statement released by the police, the officers were patrolling the Peninsula Development Rd about 5km south of Injinoo when they saw the 4WD stopped in bushland and several people leaving the vehicle.
While the two police officers were arresting people, their car was allegedly stolen and driven away by two others.
However, their vehicle was recovered a short time later from rear of houses on the edge of town. There were minor damages, and no police property had been taken.
Cops have charged three women aged 14, 16 and 18, and a man, 17, for breaking in and liquor law breaches.
