Aussies would love to see Sarah Palin as-a barbecue mate!

Melbourne, October 14 : While most Aussies believe that U.S. Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin can't run the world's largest economy, the one thing they would love to see her as, is their barbecue mate.

This suggestion is based on a survey wherein people the former beauty queen was voted a more popular barbecue guest than her running mate John McCain and their Democrat rivals, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

The poll, focused on the upcoming US election, revealed that about 44 per cent of the 2663 people surveyed would love to invite Palin around for a barbecue.

Obama was also popular, with 37 per cent voting him the best barbecue guest.

Only two per cent of those surveyed thought that Biden was interesting enough to invite around.

However, about 41 per cent people said that Palin would be "least capable" of running the U.S. economy.

Obama was a close second, with nearly 40 per cent of people electing him as the least capable.

Only three per cent of the respondents judged McCain the least qualified, reports the Daily Telegraph.

While the US media is in a lather about voting in either the first black president or the first female vice president, over two thirds of Aussie people declared gender and race did not matter for the November 4 election.

Two thirds of respondents, totalling 1756, said that Palin most reminded them of former controversial politician Pauline Hanson, and former UK Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher.

Palin, however, was judged a far cry from current Australian Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard, with only five per cent people drawing a comparison.
