Residents allege curfew restrictions in Sher-e-Khas
Srinagar, Oct 12 (UNI)Residents of areas falling under four police stations of Nowhatta, Safa Kadal, M R Gunj and Khanyar alleged that they have been put under curfew since yesterday morning.
They told media organisation that they were not allowed to bring milk, bread and other eatables by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police personnel posted in these areas.
Abdul Ahad, who was installing a stall at Sunday market on Residency road, said he was not allowed to move out of his Nowhatta house by the CRPF posted there.
He said he suffered huge losses due to curfew as Sunday was the only day when he used to sell a good number of blankets and other readymades as people from all parts of the Valley visit the market once in a week.
Several civilian were told that they have instructions not to allow anyone to enter the area from outside.
Security forces took measures after stone pelting incidents.
Tension gripped Sher-e-Khas area in the summer capital after the death of two youths in police firing on Friday afternoon.
