Traders observes 'Black Day' to protest signing of deal with MCC

Kolkata, Oct 10 (UNI) The Federation of West Bengal Trade Association (FWBTA) today observed 'Black Day' to protest the signing of a deal between the West Bengal government and Metro Cash&Carry for allowing the German multinational to do wholesale business in the city.

The Government signed the agreement with MCC despite the protest from the federation said FWBTA chairman Mahesh Kumar Singhania in a statement.

" It is matter of deep regret that inspite of Federation's best efforts, the Left Front Governbmenbt has not realised the blunder they are going to commit by giving licence to MCC and other Indian foreign corporates enabling them to start front and back door retail business", Singhania said.

The Government and the MCC today signed the agreement in Writers' Buidlings'.
