Dacoits loot people on Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh border
Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, Oct 9 (UNI) A dozen of armed dacoits assaulted several people and looted cash worth lakhs of rupees and valuables from eight vehicles at Shankh village in this district's Lodam area bordering Jharkhand, police said today.
The victims were en route to here from Jharkhand last night.
Akhil Bharatiya Kalyan Ashram General Secretary Kripa Singh was also beaten up by the dacoits besides being robbed of his cellular phone and cash.
After being escaped from their clutches Mr Singh reached nearby police station and lodged an FIR against the culprits today at wee hours.
A manhunt has been launched against the dacoits, police added.
