8 killed in wall collapse

Hyderabad, Oct 9 (UNI) Eight people were killed when a wall under construction collapsed on their huts at Nizampet on the outskirts of the city today.

Police said construction workers were staying in the huts adjacent to the wall when it caved in collapsed due to heavy rain in the evening.

Police suspected that some people might have been trapped under the debris.

Rescue operations were in progress, police said.

Details of the injured were not available immediately as the entire area was under darkness due to disruption to electricity because of heavy downpour, Police added.
