Sigh of relief among old artists

Kolhapur, Oct 06 (UNI) The film, folk, tamasha, drama, and other artists of Maharashtra will soon get their pending honorarium, official sources said here.

Due to delay in work in concerned state government departments, these artistes were deprived of their six-month honorarium since March to August 2008, Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapati Mahamandal (ABMCM) sources alleged.

State government gives Rs 500 per month to artists.

The state government recently issued an order in this connection and the artistes will get honorarium within a week's time, the sources added.

In the district, a total of 1,408 artistes will be benefitted from the scheme.
