Mani Shankar Aiyar tours Mizoram

Aizawl, Oct 6 (UNI) Union minister Mani Shankar Aiyar arrived Mizoram today on a campaign tour ahead of the state assembly polls.

The DoNER minister addressed public meetings at villages and towns along the Silchar-Aizawl road today and will have a nigh halt here.

He will move on to the southern parts of Mizoram tomorrow.

From southern capital Lunglei, he will proceed by helicopter to the district capitals. He will be back in Aizawl, meet the press and party workers and fly back to Delhi on Thursday, Congress MLA Zodintluanga told UNI here today.

The Congress party had earlier expected Rahul Gandhi to visit Mizoram ahead of the state polls to be held likely in November.
