CEC, EC to visit Srinagar ahead of Assembly election
New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N Gopalaswami along with two Election Commissioners (ECs) Navin Chawla and S Y Quereshi will be reaching Srinagar tomorrow on a two-day visit to discuss the various issues related to the holding of State assembly elections.
According to EC sources, the CEC, along with the two ECs, will meet the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir C Phunsong and Director General of Police (DGP) A K Suri tomorrow afternoon.
The CEC and the ECs will meet the leaders of the political parties on October 8 to seek their view points with respect to the coming assembly election before leaving for Delhi.
