Two killed, six injured in two road accidents

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 5 (UNI) Two persons, including a 17-year-old girl, were killed and six others injured seriously in two separate road accidents in Tiruchirapalli district yesterday.

Police said, a car driver was killed on the spot and six others injured when the car in which they were travelling collided head on with a lorry at Varadharajapuram on the Tiruchirapalli-Salm highway near here.

The deceased was identified as Suresh (28). The injured, including five women, were admitted to a private hospital at Namakkal, police said.

In an another accident, a girl student was killed on the spot when a State Transport Corporation bus ran over her at Kattur on the Tiruchirapalli-Thanjavur national highway near here.

The victim was identified as Chithra Devi.

The incident occurred when she was coming back from the school.
