Sonia renews UPA Governmnet's commitment to fight terrorism
New Delhi, Oct 4 : Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday renewed the government's commitment to continue fight against terrorism resolutely as it poses a great threat to the unity and communal amity in the country.
Addressing a rally in Delhi on Saturday evening, she accused some political parties of playing politics in the name of terrorism targeting a particular community. She called for launching a fight against communal forces who are dividing the society in the name of religion.
Sonia urged the people to join hands for maintaining peace, communal amity and brotherhood.
While referring to Civil Nuclear cooperation, she said it will help the country to accelerate the growth process with enough power for farming sector and the industry.
Sonia also spoke about the flag ship programmes launched by the centre to upliftment of poor and referred to the commitment of the government to protect the rights of the unorganized sector. She said a bill providing social security to this sector will come up in the forthcoming session of parliament.
Earlier, Sonia distributed provisional certificates to the representatives of 1200 unauthorized colonies. She appreciated Delhi government's efforts to invest 2800 crore rupees for the development of these colonies.
She said that after the Indira Gandhi regime it is for the first time that these colonies are going to be regularized after 30 years.
Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit also address the rally.
