Centre sanctions Rs 40 Cr for Pinjore Gardens
Chandigarh, Oct 4 (UNI) Haryana Minister of State for Tourism Mrs Kiran Choudhry today said that Centre had sanctioned Rs 40 crore for restoration, conservation and upgradation of the historical buildings of the Yadavindra Gardens at Pinjore.
She said the Centre had accepted Pinjore as a developed town and as a part of the integrated tourist circuit Panipat-Kurukshetra-Pinjore for which an additional amount of Rs 16.30 crore had also been sanctioned.
Talking to reporters at Pinjore, she said Yadavindra Gardens at Pinjore were one of the oldest maintained Mughal Gardens in the Indian sub-continent and Haryana Tourism Department had successfully made it the first heritage site of the State. Pinjore would now be a buffer zone for the tourists.
