BSY promises to allocate Rs 25 crore for knowledge centre
Hubli, Oct 4 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today declared that the government will allocate Rs 25 crore for opening a Knowledge Centre at Dharwad Agriculture University in the next budget for the benefit of the farmers.
Inaugurating a Krishi Mela, an agriculture exhibition at Dharwad organised by the Agriculture University he said that the government has all concern for farmers and will continue to develop agriculture sector by all means.
The Chief Minister, who elaborated his government's commitment towards farmers said that several progrmmes exclusively for the farmers have been launched in the state during the past three months.
A low rate of interest for farmers' loan, food grains at cheaper rates for the small and marginal farmers as well as agriculture labourers and several such other measures are taken.
He said that the government will take up review of each taluk and hoblis every 100 days regarding the developmental activities implemented in the target areas.
He will have direct access to the officials concerned. The officials will be held responsible for any lapses.
